YouTube Loop and Learn channel Dr. Laura Nally is back, this time to talk about T1D, Looping and Exercise! Once again, she is very excited to be presenting to Loop and Learn … and looks forward to a lively Q&A session. As always, the event will be recorded and available for viewing and sharing the following day on our YouTube Loop and Learn channel.
Laura Nally, MD, was diagnosed with T1D at the age of 6 years in 1990. She trained to become a pediatric endocrinologist at Stanford University, where she began Looping in 2018. While at Stanford, she spent 8 days hiking Mt. Whitney (14,505 ft), the tallest peak in the contiguous US, with 9 teens and 2 adults with T1D, and went on to write the first Wilderness Medical Society Clinical Practice Guidelines for Diabetes Management.
She currently works at Yale University as an Assistant Professor and receives funding from the National Institutes of Health to study metabolic changes that occur on very low carbohydrate diets in youth with T1D. She also published the first case report of Looping in Pregnancy (click on the link below).
She spends her free time advocating to improve access and affordability of diabetes medications and supplies, serving as the legislative lead for the Connecticut #insulin4all Chapter of T1International.

Please take a few minutes to turn-off the Install iOS Updates feature on your iPhone. Apple should be releasing iOS 15.4 in mid-March, and it is expected to be a significant release.
Let's give our most tech savvy Loopers an opportunity to experiment with their testing phones before the rest of the Looping community installs this significant release.

Chris Wilson, CEO of Glucose Genius, spoke to us about the manner in which ISF decreases as blood glucose increases. Of course, as with all T1D tools, this one should be used with caution. If you decide to experiment with dynamic ISF, then please remember that it has only been tested by adults using the oref algorithm (AAPS).
